En 1966 se uni\u00f3 al grupo Zaj, conocido por sus actuaciones conceptuales y radicales. Sylvie Ferr\u00e9 ha dicho de ella: El trabajo de Esther Ferrer se caracteriza por un minimalismo muy particular que integra rigor, humor, diversi\u00f3n y absurdo. En 1999 Esther Ferrer fue seleccionada para representar a Espa\u00f1a en la Bienal de Venecia.
